Founded in 1948 The Book Cellar is Brattleboro’s oldest bookstore. The orginial location was in a cellar, and so the name. Our current location, at 120 Main St, still has a cellar full of books in addition to our street-level floor. For 55 years, The Book Cellar has had a reputation for carrying a wide selection of books and catering to customers with a variety of interests. We will happily special order any books not currently in stock. Re-opened under new management in November 2004, The Book Cellar has expanded its offerings to include a carefully chosen selection of cards, journals and stationery, as well as music and games.
We are located in downtown Brattleboro on Main Street. We look forward to seeing you soon.
